Based on the critically acclaimed novel There Are No Spies by Bill Granger, Roger Donaldson's The November Man is a spy thriller film about redemption without much
substance to support its heavy storyline. The film is loaded with intense action packed sequences that do not add much to the development of its plot or characters.
The lackluster opening sequence looked more like an episode of C.S.I. , but the film picked up and gradually draws audiences into the mystery at hand as the story
progresses.

The November Man is basically a watered down version of the Bond film series without the cool gadgets, having said that Pierce Brosnan looks like a natural in his
element as veteran CIA officer Peter Devereaux. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of connection between Brosnan and Luke Bracey, who portrays his partner
and protege David Mason, despite the storyline hinting at a vast history between them. Its choppy editing also did not do it good and was sure to dissapoint audiences.
Perhaps Donaldson should take a page from Bonnie and Clyde, where the quick sequences actually adds into the chaos of the scene rather than confuse audiences.
Overall, The November Man is a fun movie but does not do Granger's novel justice.
